Brené Brown is my Conveyor

Shout out to Brené Brown who has been a Conveyor to me.

Her book “The Gifts of Imperfection” has conveyed great light, love, and humor into who I am. She takes her research, personal experiences, and eloquent writing to create a means for self-improvement and knowledge for everyone. I mean everyone. Even if you are the most put-together, confident, I-am-almost-on-the-level-of-Jesus person . Everyone will read something that resonates with them. For me, it is when Brown writes,

“When we can let go of what other people think and own our story, we gain access to our worthiness–the feeling that we are enough just as we are and that we are worth y of love and belonging. When we spend a lifetime trying to distance ourselves rom the parts of our lives that don’t fit with who we think we’re supposed to be, we stand outside of out story and hustle for our worthiness by constantly performing, perfecting, pleasing, and proving. Our sense of worthiness –that critically important piece that gives us access to love and belonging–lives inside of our story (Brown 23).

She explains that we need to believe that we are worthy of love and belonging and we must believe that to be true. In order for us to feel love, we must believe that we are worthy of love.

I have been practicing telling myself that I am worthy of love. This is especially helpful when I feel like I am in a difficult moment.

I hope you pick up this book and enjoy it as much as I did!
